Tomorrow through September 10th I'm going to be having my book Podunk Moon free in its eBook form. I really love how the physical book came out because it has the back cover as well, that I think turned out cool, at least for my first attempt at a book cover.
For those of you who don't know what the book is about, it's primarily free-verse poetry and is to an extent non-fiction in a round and about way with some fictional elements thrown in. The last...wow...I thought maybe I had 40 pages of my upcoming novel, The Great American, as an excerpt, but I actually have 96 pages in the excerpt portion. The Great American will have around 300 I'm shooting for, as I already have 288 or so, just need to add a few scenes for it to flow as well as possible.
There were some adjustments that I made to the final version of The Great American that might not completely sync up with the excerpt, but most of the changes are minor. I used the premium Grammarly app for my computer and plugged my novel into it. Mostly it was taking out a comma that didn't need to be there or putting one in, that did need to be there. That sort of thing.
As you can see my lovely cat Lena decided she wanted in on the photo shoot. The photo with her in it, has the book a tiny bit blurry, but I didn't have the heart not to use the photo that she was in.
